Abstract:
Here we will present the research activities of the Serbian AGN Group (SER-SAG) and its contribution to the development of one of the most important and innovative world astronomical facility - Vera C. Rubin Observatory, which will conduct the biggest ten-year survey - the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST).
We will describe the results of SER-SAG team in preparation for the studies of tens of millions active galactic nuclei (AGNs) with LSST. AGNs are nested in the center of a small fraction of galaxies, but should be a phase in evolution of every larger galaxy, which makes this objects particularly important for understanding of galaxy evolution. From one side we show our progress in development of innovative algorithms to detect and caracterize variability properties of AGNs. Whereas, the other aspect is the preparation for the follow-up observations of bright sources using 1.4m Milankovic telescope, the biggest astronomical observational facility in Serbia.
